featuring the works of 小泉 八雲
日本に古くからある様々な霊的伝承や神話の類、それらに魅了された小泉八雲―――。
彼の語るさざめく海の深淵部からのささやきのように、私たちの脈打つ鼓動に訴えかける低音のハーモニーは、まさにMUSIC for ISOLATIONの奏でる調べです。
今回は彼の作品集『怪談』『骨董』『霊の日本』から、少し不思議でちょっぴり恐いお話とともにお送りします。

北極ツアー帰国記念"ただいま"コンサートの開催が決定しました！
The performance is a collaboration between Swedish children's book author Aron Landahl, who will read from his book "ALLA ÄTER ALLA", a work about nature, flora and fauna, and Japanese musical duo MUSIC for ISOLATION.
The collaboration between these three unique artists, and the fact that the event takes place in Stockholm's natural surroundings, will allow the audience to see the world of imagination in an even richer way.
Adults and children of all ages are invited to use their bodies and all five senses to feel the artists' breath and thoughts expressed in nature.
We look forward to seeing you.

Join us in the beautiful surroundings of Kruttverket for an evening of intimate music transcending place and time. This marks the first exchange between Scottish Oslo residents Dopey Monkey, and from Tokyo, MUSIC for ISOLATION making their Oslo debut.
Dopey Monkey
Dopey Monkey is a collaboration between Scottish composers and musicians Martin Lee Thomson (Euphonium) and Danielle Price (Tuba). An art ensemble with ambitions to venture beyond the traditional boundaries associated with their instruments, Dopey Monkey’s journey since their formation in 2015 has seen the duo explore a range of mixed media creations, and present bespoke performances that highlight the inquisitive dynamic of the duo’s partnership.

Tokyo-based duo of Japanese and British musicians Rie Takeuchi (baritone saxophone) & Gideon Juckes (tuba).
Intimate music at the crossroads of folk, classical, improvisation, tradition and innovation.
They have just returned from an artists residence in the Arctic archipelago of Svalbard, where they have written new music inspired by the history, culture and environment of the region, and in particular the changes being brought about by global warming.

This concert at beautiful Svalbard Church will be the final public performance of their residency.

Join us at Kirakudow, the beautiful 100 year-old farmhouse hidden away in a woods in Toshimaen, as we sit by the wood fire listening to traditional ghost stories (with English subtitles) and ancient carols with a cup or two of delicious mulled wine.
MUSIC for ISOLATION is the Tokyo-based duo of Rie Takeuchi (baritone saxophone) and Gideon Juckes (tuba). Intimate music, ancient and new, at the crossroads of folk, classical, improvisation, innovation and tradition.
